KURNOOL: Collector M. Dana Kishore sanctioned an amount of Rs. 10 lakh for a yoga centre proposed by the Kurnool Heart Foundation. The Collector inaugurated the Holter monitoring equipment costing Rs. 8 lakh in the cardiology department of General Hospital here on Monday. The Holter monitoring device would monitor the ECG of the patient round the clock and alert the medical staff in case of any drastic changes in the patient’s condition.

This would help the medical staff to immediately attend on critically ill heart patients and render emergency treatment.

Head of Cardiology P. Chandrasekhar told the Collector that the cath lab being installed in the departmentwould be ready by the middle of May, which would help undertake angiogram and angioplasty in the hospital.

The lab cost Rs. 4 crore. In the next phase, open heart surgeries were also planned. Aparna Kishore, wife of the Collector, was also present at the function.
