HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Rosaiah announced an ex gratia of Rs. 10 lakh each to the families of the four persons who died along with Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy in the helicopter crash on September 2.

He told media persons after holding detailed discussions with Chief Secretary P. Ramakanth Reddy here on Saturday, that it had also been decided to offer government jobs to eligible persons in their families, and provide education to children if required.

Mr. Rosaiah appealed to the people of the State again not to resort to suicides to express their grief over the death of Rajasekhara Reddy. They must exercise restraint and bear the shock with composure and resilience. The Chief Minister said, “The State, as a whole, is deep in sorrow following the tragedy and any further deaths will sink us further.”

He said the policies and programmes of YSR would be implemented “perfectly” with renewed vigour. He said: “He strived to give a better deal to the people of the State and had dreams for the State. We will work to fulfil them.”
