A robber escaped when alarm at the chest of Andhra Bank had rung and alerted the police and local people on Sunday night. Explaining the incident Crime DSP P. Umapati Varma told mediapersons on Monday that the incident had taken place in Innispeta branch of Andhra Bank around 12.30 p.m. on Sunday night.

A robber entered the bank from the back side by breaking a window and he managed to divert the CC camera near the chest.

When the unidentified person tried to break the chest with saw blades and iron material, the alarm at the chest rang and the alert was heard in a nearby police station. The police and local people rushed to the bank, but the robber had escaped.
