Karimnagar TRS legislator Gangula Kamalakar has said that the R&B department roads in Karimnagar town would get a face lift with the government sanctioning Rs 5.85 crore for taking up repairs on a war footing.
Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he said that these roads which were laid about 10 years ago have developed several potholes due to movement heavy vehicular traffic, would be beautified by taking up repairs besides laying of new roads.
The roads which would be developed include; civil hospital to Naka cross roads and Peddapalli cross roads, NTR statue to Kaman and Karimnagar bus station, Shiva theatre to Malkapur cross roads and Ambedkar statue to civil hospital to Teegalaguttapalli.
Similarly, the Municipal Corporation authorities have also decided to lay a road from LIC divisional office to Collectorate to ease traffic congestion in front of RTC bus station complex at a cost of Rs 80 lakh.
He said that they had also planned to develop roads at Bommakal region from Ashoknagar in the town.
Earlier, the legislator along with former MP B Vinod Kumar had participated in the plantation of saplings at Ramnagar locality in Karimnagar.
Expressing concern over the failure of the district administration in taking up plantation in Karimnagar, he said that they had decided to take up plantation of one lakh saplings by motivating the residents. TRS town president S Ravinder Singh, Women’s wing district president K Revathi and others were also present.
