The discussions at the core committee meeting of National Joint Committee on Steel (NJCS) on wage revision for the employees of RINL and SAIL held in New Delhi on Thursday remained inconclusive with the management insisting on offering 15.6 minimum guaranteed benefit and the unions demanding 20 per cent (MGB).

The next meeting of the core committee will be held on August 6 in New Delhi. It has been decided to conduct contract labour wage committee meeting on July 30. The perquisites committee will meet on July 31 on the demand for increase in various allowances. The proposal of pension for steel workers will figure at the pension committee meeting in Mumbai on August 5.

Mr. Rajasekhar and Mr. Adinarayana in separate statements criticised the attitude of the managements in not conceding their demand for giving MGB of 20 per cent.
