ADILABAD: Adilabad Municipal Chairman Digambar Rao Patil on Friday demanded the government to sanction Rs. 50 lakh to purchase a generator to operate the pump house at Landa Sangvi. He also demanded revival of individual sanitary latrines (ISL) schemes in the slums here and sanction of a 5 lakh litre overhead water tank in the slums of Jaijawanganar and Khursheednagar. Addressing newsmen accompanied by Adilabad District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman M. Damodar Reddy, Mr. Patil said supply of drinking water in town keeps suffering due to the power cuts. He said power cuts made it difficult to operate the pump house and hence the requirement of a generator. Reviewing the just concluded Praja Patham in town, Mr. Patil and Mr. Reddy said a large number of people have demanded ISLs. Councillors Ajay Kumar, Ashok Goud, D. Jyothi and Vijay Kumar Joshi were present.
