The revised fares for both the unreserved and reserved class tickets will come into effect from 12 a.m. on January 22, 2013, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager M. Shyam Sundara Rao, South Central Railway, Guntur Division, has said.
Passengers who have already had their tickets booked on Passenger Reservation System in advance for journeys commencing on or after January 22 will have to pay the difference of old and revised fares.
Special arrangements are being made in this regard at all important Railway stations to collect the above amounts from passengers before the commencement of journey.
Passengers may also pay the difference of fares to the regular ticket checking staff/ special squads on board the trains. The differential amount will be displayed on the reservation charts carried with Travelling Ticket Examiners on all trains for the convenience of both passengers and Railway staff.
The Railways have also decided to disable the present provision of issuing advance tickets in general class (for destinations of more than 200 km) in Unreserved Ticket Systems (UTS) for the next three days starting from January 19.
Guntur Railway Division is geared up to handle the smooth sailing of revised fare structure in the ticketing systems. The Commercial branch has assigned special duties to supervisory staff to monitor the situation on the night of January 21-22.
