Kakinada: Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi inaugurated the three-day District Revenue Sports and Cultural Meet-2010 at the District Sports Authority stadium here on Thursday.

On the occasion, Mr. Dwivedi said officers and employees of the Revenue Department were under continuous work stress. Sports and games meet would provide them the much-needed relief from the burden of duty, thereby reinvigorate them for the tasks ahead.

Physical fitness could be achieved by participating in such events.

All officers and employees of the department would be provided insurance cover and medical camps conducted next month.

Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy called upon the Revenue Department officers and employees to discharge their duties efficiently by keeping themselves fit both physically and mentally.

Joint Collector K. Sasidhar, additional Joint Collector B. Rama Rao and others were present.

Six teams – Collectorate team headed by DRO S. Venkata Rao and teams of five revenue divisions (Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Amalapuram, Peddapuram and Rampachodavaram) led by the respective RDOs G.C. Kishore Kumar, Ch. Vinay Mohan, B. Lavanya Veni, K. Nataraj and M. Jyothi are participating in the competitions.
