Holi, the festival of colours was celebrated in the city with enthusiasm.

The festival was mostly confined to the North Indians and families gathered at some places to celebrate the festival. Special pujas were organised and camp fires were lit. Apart from them, the local youngsters enjoyed the festival. Groups of them were engaged in revelry and were doused in different hues and shades, they moved around on motorbikes and four-wheelers to visit their acquaintances to smear colour on them.

At a few places, the passers-by were also not spared. People visited temples to offer puja on the occasion of Pournima.

The ISKCON celebrated Gour Purnima festival at the ISKCON temple at Sagarnagar. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Kalash Abhisekham was performed to mark the appearance of Chaitnaya Mahaprabhu as an Avatar of Lord Krishna on the Holi festival day.

Holi festival was celebrated with a riot of colours at Ukkunagaram, the cosmopolitan steel township.

The top management of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), led by its Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) AP Choudhary and other Directors, Chief Vigilance Officer, CISF Commandant and senior officials along with their families orchestrated the celebrations with much fanfare on the day.  

 President of Visteel Mahila Samiti (VMS) Lata Choudhary, Vice Presidents, and members of VMS joined the Holi celebrations which coincided with the celebrations of International Women's Day.
