The CPI(M) district unit has demanded that the 132 acres of Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City developed by Ramky and attached by Enforcement Directorate should be given back to farmers and the poor and the company should be black-listed.

In a statement on Thursday, district secretary Ch. Narsinga Rao said the company had reduced the green belt area from 500 m to 50 m thereby getting an additional 160 acres of land. This was irregularly plotted and sold getting hundreds of crores of rupees as the CBI inquiry revealed, he said.

Mr. Narasimha Rao alleged that the company did not keep its assurance that the neighbouring Tadi village would be shifted and was delaying it.

A raw deal was meted out to the unemployed and permanent job was not given to anyone, he said and demanded immediate action against the company.
