HYDERABAD: Director-General of Police Swaranjit Sen on Monday laid the foundation for a two-storied police rest house, "Sharanam", to be constructed by the Andhra Pradesh Police Housing Corporation at a cost of Rs.35 lakhs. The rest house will accommodate ailing members of policemen's families and their attendants who come to city for treatment. An official release said the family members/attendants were experiencing difficulty in securing accommodation before and after hospitalisation, and for undergoing diagnostic tests.
B. M. Ramalingeswara Rao, DGP and Managing Director of the corporation, and Tejdeep Kour Menon, IG (Welfare), Anita Sen, wife of DGP, attended the function. Mr. Sen launched the "Andhra Pradesh Upadi Sikshana" programme at the Police Transport Organisation (PTO), being taken up with the support of the Satyam Group.
