The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has defended the stand of its president K. Chandrasekhar Rao that employees of coastal districts working in Telangana must go back saying it was a natural process when the division of the State took place.
Addressing a press conference, TRS MLAs T. Harish Rao, T. Rajaiah and J. Ramanna said Mr. Rao’s remarks were twisted out of proportion to convey that they were made deliberately to provoke people.
They were in tune with recommendations of various committees set up by government in the past to monitor the services of staff.
They accused the government of adopting a partisan stand by going slow on the ongoing agitation in coastal districts. When a similar agitation took place in Telangana, the government took a tough stand.
It was also surprising that leaders like Revenue Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy who was among the 41 Congress legislators to sign a memorandum submitted to the Centre demanding separate Telangana have resigned after the announcement creating a separate State.
