Relevance of commerce courses highlighted

Commerce students’ meet ‘Convergence 2013’ was inaugurated here on Friday.

At the inaugural of the event at the Department of Business Administration, P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts & Science, Chartered Accountant S.A. Naidu dwelt at length about the relevance of commerce courses in the present economic situation through an audio-visual presentation about the opportunities.

Every student must set a goal of the higher order early in life and work to achieve it.

‘Balance Sheet Analysis’ made students tackle numbers and ‘Commerce Quiz’ made them realise their conceptual understanding. ‘Brand Recognition’, ‘Ad Captions’, and ‘Current affairs’ were the other events held on the occasion.

In all, 400 students participated in four events. They displayed their versatility by exhibiting their skills in cultural event titled ‘Jhalak Diklaja’ by dancing to the latest numbers and also invoking patriotic spirit through numbers like ‘Sare jahan se Acha’.

Chalasani Dutt, convener, PG Centre, urged the participants to show interest in learning through various sources.

Prof. Rajesh Jampala said the college would continue to conduct such programmes for the benefit of the student community. He thanked all the teams and event coordinators for making it a grand success.
