Telangana United Front (TUF) leaders have sought the unconditional release of jailed TUF co-chairperson Vimalakka and withdrawal of cases against other leaders and activists.
TUF chairman Keshav Rao Jadhav and secretary general K. Dileep Kumar represented to Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy here on Monday that cases were being foisted against TUF leaders with an intention to suppress the Telangana movement.
Cases were registered against Vimalakka, Keshav Rao Jadhav and Dileep Kumar though the three TUF leaders were not personally involved in the damage to Brahmananda Reddy’s statue or other incident at ORR toll gate, they said.
It was nothing but a conspiracy to keep Vimalakka behind bars, they said. No sooner bail was granted in one case, the police brought PT warrant against her in ‘Kamareddy conspiracy’ case. As a result, Vimalakka was in jail for the last 34 days.
