HYDERABAD: Office-bearers of ‘MAA Telangana’, an organisation that encompasses three wings of people connected with the film industry and hailing from the region, on Monday appealed to all sections of people to refrain from targeting the entertainment sector.

The three wings include Telangana Film Producers’ Council led by M. Jaswanth Reddy, a Film Directors’ Association represented by L. Srinath and Telugu Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce represented by P. Amaresh Kumar. They were all formed a week ago, it was understood.

In a joint press release here, the office-bearers of the three wings said artistes were primarily meant for entertainment only and that they need not be viewed as someone with regional feelings. They said that targeting film unit members while shooting or other properties belonging to those from the industry would only be counter-productive.
