‘Police indifferent to complaints’

Konapuri Ramulu, brother of the murdered People’s War Group naxalite Sambasivudu, who is the vice-president of the district Telangana Rashtra Samiti, on Wednesday alleged that he has been receiving threatening telephone calls since three months, from over 100 numbers.

The callers, mostly in the name of ‘tigers’, have been holding out threats to kill him and asking him not to move around. The calls are being made between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 12 noon and 1 p.m., he told a press conference here.

Mr. Ramulu, who stays in Hyderabad, said he informed the Cyberabad police about the receipt of threatening calls. He alleged that the police were indifferent to his complaints. He claimed that based on a call received from Argentina, two persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of Sambasivudu.

The TRS leader demanded police protection for himself and his family.

He said the State government would have to take the blame if either he and or his family was harmed. B. Nagarjuna, TRS student wing State secretary, was present at the press conference.
