Alleges rebel candidate has been wooing voters with money Parties expect expenditure to cross Rs. 3 crores

NELLORE: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) vice-president and Congress' official nominee for Legislative Council seat under the local body quota C. V. Sesha Reddy has alleged that rebel candidate Bommireddy Raghavendra Reddy was luring voters with money.

Taking a dig at the rebel candidate for filing nomination, the PCC vice-president said that: "I would have won the seat unopposed had Mr. Raghavendra Reddy not been in the fray. But he will anyway be expelled from the Congress in a couple of days," he claimed at a press conference on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, insiders in the Congress claimed that expenditure for the seat would cross a minimum of Rs. 3 crores for a variety of reasons. Since difference between the combined strength of both TDP as well as CPI (M) and Congress and CPI is only 113, both of them will have to spend money to keep their flock intact besides roping in a significant number of voters to better their winning chances.
