Special thrust on cleanliness

Hats off to the Guntur Municipal Corporation authorities for showing special interest on sanitation and cleanliness. In this contest I want them to once visit the vegetable market near Gandhi Park and the Rythu Bazar of Pattabhipuram and start the sanitation and cleanliness activity from there. That part of the town is the worst affected with the dumping of vegetable and other waste.

Don’t ignore Ramayapatnam

While the coastal village of Ramayapatnam was said to have been the ideal place for setting up a sea port by the observers of the Government, it comes as a rude shock that now the idea has been given up and in its place Dugarajupatnam has been chosen. The hopes of the people of Kavali and Kandukuru have been shattered as they hoped to have chances of employment. Similar and of course greater is the shock to the real estate owners with fond hopes of selling their lands closer to a port.

Revision of pension

The Ministry of Personnel and Pensions had informed vide memorandum No.F.No.38/37/08 P&PW (A) dated 28-1-2013 that the pension of pre-2006 pensioners would be further stepped up to 50 per cent of the sum of minimum of pay in the pay band and the grade pay corresponding to the pre-revised pay scale from which the pensioner had retired.

Similarly, the family pension also would be stepped up to 30 per cent of the sum of minimum of pay in the payband. Further it was notified that the above orders would take effect from 24-9-2012, the date of approval by the Government. But, it is regretted to note that the orders are not implemented by the Government so far. The pre-2006 pensioners are in the age group of 75-80 and they are under apprehension whether they can see the light of the day in their life time. The Government should implement the orders early and fulfil the aspirations of the pensioners.

The sacred cow

It is most unfortunate, highly condemnable and deplorable that the sacred cow, held in high esteem as a goddess and mother, had been left to its cruel fate as the recent news-report from Simhachalam, to which the devotees donate cows as a token of their vows fulfilled an act shown to the divinity. Who else will take care of the innocent and dumb animals. A high-level judicial enquiry will only do justice and such measures as fixing responsibility for this reported incident, stern steps to prevent such atrocities be taken up to restore faith in the devotees hears is needed forthwith.

Andhra first centenary celebrations

The credit goes to Sri Gade Venkata Reddy, MLA, Bapatla, who initiated in conducting the centenary celebrations of first Andhra conference and making it success in a grand manner from May 24 to 26, 2013, at Bapatla. It is the lucky of the MLA as the completion of 100 years as on May 26{+t}{+h}lies in his tenure. But it is unfortunate that some of the main opposition party leaders not to make it convenient to attend, even though the convention is not party based. Any how thankful to Bapatla Parliament Member and Union Minister of State Panabaka Lakshmi making much effort to convince Union Minister Killi Krupa Rani and release of special postal cover on the occasion which leads the Andhra’s image nation wide.

BSNL tariff rates

BSNL has given special tariff rates for landlines for urban combined call. But they have not given any plan for combined landline and BSNL cell phones. Further they have not given special tariff plan, where as others give by paying fixed monthly amount. They have given for USA, they have not given for U.K. and other commonwealth countries. This is really unjustified and we request the BSNL to extend the facility like other operators.
