HYDERABAD: ‘Helping Hands Mela’, an annual fair organised by HSBC for NGOs and communities to display and sell their products, arts or crafts was inaugurated in the city on Monday by actress Bhumika and her yoga-instructor husband Bharat Thakur. In its eighth edition, the fair is being held at select 43 HSBC offices across 25 cities. Five city-based NGOs are participating in the mela in Hyderabad. Welcoming the initiative by the bank, Ms. Bhumika said, “We should do whatever we can for the good of the society. I feel proud for being part of this event.”

The mela is a forum for HSBC employees to interact closely with NGOs and understand some of the issues that communities around them face. The proceeds of the sale would go towards supporting a charitable cause in communities where the NGO has its presence.
