Research Centre Imarat (RCI), a premier missile laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) here, is planning to create knowledge data link with academia in the USA in a bid to ensure that scientists are abreast with latest information.
As part of this process, two experts from the USA, Paul Zarchan and P.K. Menon, attended a three-day ‘Guidance and Control Workshop' that began at RCI on Saturday. They delivered 24 lectures covering prime areas like advanced guidance schemes against highly manoeuvring air and ballistic targets and theatre ballistic missile defence.
S.K. Chaudhuri, who recently took over as RCI director, said the workshop was attended by guidance and control engineers from missile laboratories as well as students from IIT, Mumbai and Bengal College of Engineering , Kolkata.
He said the aim of workshop was to reduce the knowledge gap, particularly in seekers and actuators used in missiles.
Prof. Zarchan said he was extremely impressed with the knowledge displayed by the participants at the workshop.
