Student activists took out a rally under the banner of Telangana Students’ Joint Action Committee (TSJAC) here on Wednesday in protest against the ‘Rayala-Telangana’ proposal.

The student activists, belonging to various educational institutions from different parts of the town, took part in the rally.

The protesters raised slogans demanding formation of a separate Telangana State comprising ten districts with Hyderabad as its capital. Meanwhile, the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee and several other pro-Telangana organisations extended their support to the Telangana Bandh called by the TRS in protest against the ‘Rayala-Telangana’ proposal on December 5.

The bandh is likely to cast its impact on coal production in the Kothagudem region as some of the pro-Telangana trade unions may also observe bandh.
