The TDP is strongly opposing to the Rayala-Telangana proposal and it is a conspiracy of the Congress to deny the genuine demands of Telangana people, party senior leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao has said.

The State has seen an agitation spanning over several decades only for Telangana State with 10 districts and none had ever raised the Rayala Telangana issue. Even all political parties gave their consent only for a Telangana State, while people of Rayalaseema are not ready for bifurcation of their region, he points out.

“The bifurcation demand came due to cultural diversity and marginalisation of Telangana people. How can the culturally different groups from Rayalaseema and Telangana be brought together?,” Mr. Rao asked and said that the TDP would debate on the issue and a delegation from Telangana would go to Delhi soon to counter the Raya-Telangana proposal.

The TDP leader found fault with the Congress for confusing people by changing its track time and again. “The Congress leaders from Telangana are shamelessly backing Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy by giving their consent to his plans at the cabinet meeting held Tuesday,” the TDP leader said.

The people of the region should question the Congress leaders over different statements being issued by their party leaders from Delhi. “The CWC says something and GoM says something other,” Mr. Rao said.
