KADAPA: Andhra Pradesh was meted a raw deal in the Union Railway Budget, former MLA and TDP leader M.V. Ramana Reddy alleged on Wednesday.

He was speaking at the party's membership drive at TDP office in Proddatur.

He observed that Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have widely benefited when leaders of the States were Railway Ministers.

Andhra Pradesh too should demand the portfolio so that it too can get priority, he said.

He favoured a railway line from Banaganapalle to Kurnool rather than to Nandyal.

He demanded drawal of water from Owk reservoir to Pennar river for augmenting drinking water supply in Proddatur.

He sought construction of godowns and loans to farmers for storing agricultural produce.
