Ramineni Foundation, U.S.A will give away Prathibha Purakskaarams-2013 and Guru Purakskaarams to meritorious students of Class 10 and headmasters in mandal and district level and headmasters of schools at a function to be held at Siddhartha Gardens October 15.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Chief Executive Officer of Ramineni Foundation Ramineni Dharmaparacharak and former Zilla Parishad Chairman Paturi Nagbhushanam said that the merit awards would be given away to 101 students who have secured first, second and third ranks in the Class 10 examinations. Ninty-one headmasters who have secured 100 per cent results would also be given away the awards.
He said that the foundation was established in the United States of America in 1995 to preserve the Indian culture and since 1999 has been giving away awards instituted in the memory of his father, Ramineni Annaya Chowdary.
Since 2006, they have started the practice of giving away awards to students who have secured the maximum number of marks in Class 10 examinations. In the same year, they have given 61 gold, silver and bronze medals to meritorious students, he said.
Born at Brahmana Koduru village in Ponnur mandal in 1929, Ramineni went to the U.S.A in 1955 to pursue higher studies. He worked as professor in many reputed universities before turning his attention to business. He set up the Ramineni Foundation in 1995 at Cincinnati State in U.S.A.
