Starts from birthplace of Sri Ramadasu
A specially designed chariot christened “Rama Ratham is all set to embark on a spiritual journey to propagate the historical background and significance of the famous Sri Seetharamachandra Swamy shrine of Bhadrachalam across the State.
According to sources, the chariot resembling the famous Bhadradri shrine and carrying the idols of the temple deities, arrived at Bhadrachalam late on Sunday night. The chariot was accorded a ceremonial welcome by the denizens of the temple town amidst slogans in praise of Lord Sri Rama. The chariot was designed at an estimated cost of Rs. 23 lakh.
The temple-sponsored chariot carrying the idol of Sri Baktha Ramadasu in the front has become the cynosure of all eyes in the temple town. It is expected to commence its spiritual journey from Nelakondapalli, the birth place of the saint-composer Sri Ramadasu, in the third week of November.
Around eight persons including a section of the temple priests and the members of the music troupe will accompany the chariot. It will propagate various age-old traditions and rituals associated with the historical temple en route its spiritual trip. Special poojas and rituals would also be performed during the divine tour.
