Dedicated feeder lines have been laid, says discom official
All arrangements are in place to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the whole temple complex, Mithila Stadium, and other important locations in Bhadrachalam during the ensuing mega religious events — Sri Sitarama Tiru Kalyana Mahotsavam and Sri Rama Pattabhishekam — slated for April 19 and 20 in the temple town.
The authorities have accorded top priority to provision of dedicated power supply to the temple complex housing the historical Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy shrine, Mithila Stadium, the venue for the celestial wedding, and several other places on Sri Rama Navami festival day as well as the next day.
The grand religious events attract thousands of devotees from across the State and elsewhere.
A host of VVIPs, including Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, will participate in the Kalyana Mahotsavam on April 19. Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan is likely to attend the Sri Rama Pattabhishekam the following day.
In view of the prevailing precarious power supply situation, the authorities have initiated foolproof measures to see to it that all the important venues in the temple town get dedicated power supply during the two days.
Bhadrachalam Sub-Collector Narayana Bharath Gupta has instructed the APNPDCL officials to personally supervise the arrangements such as internal wiring, removal of obstructions, if any, in transmission lines at Mithila Stadium and inside the temple complex.
He has directed the temple authorities to arrange a high-capacity generator at the venue as part of a contingency plan to meet any unforeseen disruption in power supply during the festivities.
“We have laid dedicated feeder lines in the temple town to provide uninterrupted power supply to the temple complex, Mithila Stadium, and several other specified locations on April 19 and 20,” said APNPDCL Superintending Engineer V. Sudhakar.
Electricity would be drawn from the dedicated feeder for illuminating the temple complex and meeting the electricity needs during the ensuing festivities, he said.
