The quick response of `Rakshak' parties to problem situations in Adilabad has boosted confidence in people
ADILABAD: The amount of people's faith invested in the Police Department is directly proportional to crime control, which in turn is dependent on the quickness of policemen responding to problem situations. The Rakshak mobile police parties in town have yet again served to instil confidence in people when on Saturday night, one of the teams zeroed in on a gang of four snatchers within one hour of a crime being committed. It has raised the morale of the policemen too.
Taking advantage of a power cut on Saturday evening, a quartet of thieves snatched gold ornaments from a woman and injured her. They were caught within an hour, thanks to the quick response of policemen.
Acting with alacrity
"Even before the doctor gave a check-up to the victim, we were able to nab the thieves," said One Town Sub Inspector L. Jeevan Reddy, underscoring the fact of quick response. "First we went to the bus stand. Within minutes, we had the Ashok Road covered where shops of goldsmiths are located. There are two places where thieves with the snatcher modus operandi head for. Our efforts met with success at the second location. One look at them was enough to tell us that they were the culprits," recounted J. Gunwanth Rao, the Rakshak mobile team leader.
Gunwanth Rao claims that his team reaches within two to three minutes of receiving information of a crime being committed at any place within the town.
