Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has instructed the authorities to take all precautionary measures to evacuate people living in low-lying areas in the city.
Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed the situation following heavy rains in many parts of the State with Chief Secretary over phone and asked him to monitor the situation with the officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Disaster Response and Fire Services.
Rain occurred at many places over Telangana and at a few laces over Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema on Wednesday with rainfalls in the range of 4 cm to 12 cm.
Meanwhile, the IMD forecast said that the South-West Monsoon had been active over Telangana region and as such Hyderabad may experience a few spells of rain or thundershowers, at times heavy in some areas.
Moderate to rather heavy rain or thunder showers would occur at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema.
Heavy rain would occur at isolated places in the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari, Nellore and Guntur of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kadapa and Anantapur of Rayalaseema and in all the districts of Telangana during next 48 hours.
Instructs authorities to take steps to evacuate people living in low-lying areas in the city
