Divisional Railway authorities in Guntakal division have allotted funds for conducting a survey for laying double railway line to an extent of 365 kilometres between Guntur-Guntakal railway line.
Presently only a single line exists between Guntur and Guntakal. The Railway authorities have allotted Rs.36.51 crore for the survey. Once the survey is completed the railway authorities will undertake laying of the new line which will help ease traffic congestion on the single line .The also has allotted Rs.8.18 lakh for conducting another survey between Manthralayam road and Kurnool Railway line for the 110 kilometer line . Another Rs.8.10 lakhs has been sanctioned for railway bridge over Penna bridge near Kallur in Anantapur district.
