For young Nuttaki Priyanka, the current world under-10 chess champion, the gesture by PVP Group came at the right time thus helping her to pack her bags for the Asian youth (under-12) championship to be held at Mashhad (Iran) from June 20 to 27.

At a promotional function of film ‘Balupu’ at Hyderabad recently, the PVP group chairman Potluri V. Prasad gave away Rs.2.40 lakh and the chess prodigy received the donation from the popular Tollywood actor Shruti Hassan.

“We are very happy to support and encourage you. We wish you all the best and hope you will bring more laurels for our nation,” said Mr. Prasad in a release on Monday.

Priyanka’s mother Durga said that the gesture will help her daughter concentrate better for the forthcoming tournaments. “After her Iran trip, Priyanka will hone her skills for the world under-12 championship to be held at Dubai in December. “During the six months she will take part in the domestic tournaments,” she added.
