The public hearing on the proposed LNG terminal project at Gangavaram Port, scheduled to be held on Friday, has been postponed in view of disruption in normal life following recent heavy rains in the district.

A fresh date will be notified later, according to Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board official Osman Ali Khan.

With the recent rains affecting the normal life in the region, the officials had decided to put off the proposed public hearing, he said on Thursday.

The first phase of the proposed terminal being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 4,500 crore will have a capacity of 5 million metric tonnes per annum and pre-project works are going on.
