Verbal duel between Chiranjeevi fans and ticket aspirants

KHAMMAM: It is Chiranjeevi’s followers versus ticket aspirants at the Praja Rajyam Party meeting here on Tuesday. A six-member monitoring committee, deputed by the State leadership to the district for the preparatory exercise to constitute party panels at different levels, witnessed verbal duels and physical confrontation between them.

Much of the trouble was from the followers of two leaders of Paleru segment. It disrupted the proceedings for a while and the din subsided only with the intervention of some senior leaders. It was the first-ever meeting of the party with participation coming from all the ten segments in the district.

Party flag hoisted

The party leaders organised the ‘janda pandaga’ by hoisting the party flag with much fanfare.

Addressing the partymen, J. Satyanaranaya, convener of the monitoring committee that was deputed to the district, said that the party chief would tour in Khammam and Warangal very soon, probably before the month end. He urged the partymen to make the membership drive a success.

He said there was overwhelming response to the membership drive in the State. Almost every family would be covered by the party cadre going door-to-door during the month long drive. He said that the fans of Chiranjeevi, Pavan Kalyan and all other actors from the family would also be part of the initiative to strengthen and consolidate the organisation in Khammam.

Members of the monitoring committee had meetings with the leaders constituency-wise. They assured the partymen and fans of the film actor that they would have their importance in party building. The party activists and the volunteers of the Chiranjeevi Seva Samiti in the district were commended for their effective involvement in the organisational activity.
