Ten revenue and medical employees had a providential escape when the boat in which they were travelling as part of flood relief operations reportedly turned upside down in the Godavari near Koida in Velerupadu mandal on Wednesday. All members of the flood relief team were rescued by ace swimmers accompanying the motor boat.

The incident occurred close to the banks of the river under Koida village limits. The motor boat carrying the member of the relief team , including the medical officer Malathi and some revenue department personnel, suddenly turned upside down after reportedly hitting a wooden log floating in the river. The swimmers on board the boat saved them from drowning, the medical officer said.
