Additional Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary (Tourism) Chandana Khan has instructed the authorities to prepare proposals to organise the Indur Tourism Festival in Nizamabad.
During her visit to Haritha Indur Inn here on Saturday, she said that the festival was proposed to promote tourism in the district and attract more visitors. She suggested the authorities to constitute a forum to organise cultural activities, sports, book exhibitions, visits to archaeological museum and pilgrim centres and programmes related to health tourism, arts tourism. “Apart from this, a food festival will also be organised during the Dasara festival,” she said.
In the pipeline
Later in the day, Ms. Khan met Collector P.S. Pradyumna and promised that she would sanction Rs.5 crore as per the request from the district administration for developing Ali Sagar reservoir as a tourist destination.
Tenders for the project will be floated shortly, she said.
“I will extend my cooperation to develop Mallaram forest and Badapahad as tourist centres, she added.
Ali Sagar reservoir will be developed as a tourist destination at a cost Rs. 5 crore.
