The need to focus on green technologies and take public private partnership to a new level for accelerating technology development were among the issues highlighted by speakers during a panel discussion at the Aviation Conclave which concluded here on Saturday.

The panellists, including Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister V. K. Saraswat, called for setting up an Aeronautical Commission to bring all activities related to aviation under one umbrella with an integrated approach for optimising opportunities. The Commission should be tasked with looking into all aspects, including the major role to be played by academia and R & D centres. Dr.Prahlada, Chief Controller R&D (Aero& SI) DRDO, P.S. Subramanyam, Director, Aeronautical Development Agency, A.R. Upadhya, Director, NAL, P.S. Krishna Kumar, GM, HAL and Christian Dedieu from M/s Sagem, France participated.
