Families displaced due to construction of the Thotapalli irrigation project and rehabilitated elsewhere in Parvathipuram mandal are seeking facilities like FP shops, job cards, anganwadi centres, health sub-centre, drinking water, caste certificates etc in the newly built colonies. At a review meeting on rehabilitation of displaced families on Tuesday, representatives from the rehabilitation colonies narrated their problems to Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah. As the oustees were displaced from Garugubili mandal, collecting essential commodities from FP shops in Parvathipuram mandal had become a problem as the ration cards they possessed had become invalid.
The Collector asked Parvathiuram RDO J. Venkata Rao to shift the ration shop in the next two days and ensure supply of essential items to them. The Collector asked Assistant Project Director (DWMA) Appala Naidu to make arrangements for job cards.
Earlier, the Collector reviewed on release of grants under SC/ST Sub-Plan.
