The High Court called for a full-fledged inquiry into various certificates issued by the Tahsildar, Saroornagar, pertaining to eight acres of prime land in Nadergul village and directed the district Collector to submit a report to it in June.
Justice Ch. Kodanda Ram was dealing with a writ petition filed by Penta Reddy who filed a writ petition complaining that the Tahsildar was changing entries in the possession column in revenue records. He said that the Tasildar office issued the certificate on possession long ago and the present Tahsildar had issued a memo to change the name in possession column in favour of family of Y. Pochaiah. When the case came up hearing, the judge noticed the present Tahildar filed a counter-affidavit contending that the certificate being relied upon by the petitioner was not in the records. He made it clear that the file is not traceable and it does not pertain to the office of Tahsildar of Saroornagar.
