Pradeep Chandra, who took charge as the Principal Secretary (Industries and Commerce) recently, paid a visit to Sri City Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Satyavedu constituency of Chittoor district on Wednesday.

During his interaction with heads of sixty industrial units who have set up base at Sri City, he thanked them for investing in the SEZ and reposing faith in Andhra Pradesh, besides appreciating the industrial development and welfare programmes undertaken by Sri City. He envisioned a day when products manufactured here would soon be marketed with ‘Made in Sri City’ tag.

“I assure you that the commerce and industries department will go the extra mile to clear any approvals and push forward the success of the single window clearance system. I further urge the industries to employ locals as this will develop the region and bring a sense of belongingness in the community,” he added. Sri City managing director Ravindra Sannareddy pointed to the single window system as having made the difference in getting clearances and approvals easily. He also thanked the State for ensuring sustained water and power supply to the region, indicating that the SEZ would provide one lakh direct and indirect jobs soon.
