SEC holds review meeting with Karimanagar, Warangal, Khammam district administrations

The revenue and police personnel of Karimanagar, Warangal and Khammam districts were asked to be prepared for conduct of local body elections.

State Election Commissioner P. Ramakanth Reddy held a meeting with the Superintendents of Police, District Collectors and other officials of three districts here on Friday.

The MPTC and ZPTC elections would be held in two phases while the sarpanch elections would be held in three phases based on 2011 census.

The exact date would be announced later, he said.

The Election Commissioner directed the officials to identify sensitive and hyper-sensitive villages to assess and make security arrangements.

Nearly 18,000 policemen were being trained for the elections.

The officials were asked to prepare the list of teachers and headmasters who would be drafted for the election duties.

“The most important aspect is implementation of election code of conduct. There is high level of awareness among the people and they will question each and every wrong.
