TDF members to meet intellectuals to identify lacunae in development
Mega cultural event ‘Dhoom Dham’ will be organised
WARANGAL: Telangana Development Forum (TDF), an association of NRIs settled in US from the Telangana region proposes to organise their second ‘Pravasi Telangana Divas’ here on Sunday.
Sriram Vadere, Putta Viplav Reddy, Sudhakar Perkari, Srujan Kusuma and others said the association was formed eleven years ago and has been striving to bring development to the region by contributing funds for projects such as schools and roads among others. The proposed meeting was aimed at learning more about the region from the academics and intellectuals and identify the gaps in development. The TDF would then chalk out programmes accordingly and bring in more projects.
At the day long event, senior journalists, academics and intellectuals would deliberate on socio-economic issues like special economic zones, open cast mining, river water utilisation etc. ‘Dhoom Dham’, a mega cultural event involving lyricists and balladeers Andesri, Desapti Srinivas and Gaddar will be held.
The TDF, which was 2,500 members was also striving to preserve and popularise cultural aspects of Telangana region and has been organising Batukamma festivals in 50 cities in the sUS.
