KHAMMAM: Pratightanata, one of the left wing extremist groups had wound up it operations in three districts – Khammam, Warangal and Karimnagar. Messu Rambabu alias Srinu, district secretary of the party, who surrendered before the Superintendent of Police, Anil Kumar, said he was the last one from the State leadership of the party to give up.
He had made up his mind to surrender for becoming the ultimate target after the party had lost important leaders such as Ashokanna, Kondanna and Tirupatanna. Another member of the party, Veeranna also surrendered before the police.
Those who surrendered on Tuesday included Goggella Rambabu alias Madhu- of Kothaguda village a dalam member of the CPI (Maoist), Dunikella Latha alias Lathakka and Kunja Ramesh of Praja Pratightana. The Superintendent of Police said that Pratighatana, one of the extremist groups operating on the district for quite some time had almost become extinct. He said that the police would go ahead with the counselling exercise.
He said that all steps were being taken to ensure protection to the lives and properties of the people.
On the bank robbery at Satyanarayanapuram by the Maoists he said that investigation was on. The culprits were already identified. The OSD Operations, K.R.Tata was also present.
