Prakasam district with a pass percentage of 60 per cent improved from 12th to seventh position in the State in the senior intermediate examinations, the results of which were declared on Friday.

Regional Inspection Officer and District Examinations Committee (DEC) Convenor P. Manickam told reporters that 14,617 of the 24,320 students who appeared for the examinations in the district passed.

The pass percentage was only 55 per cent last year.

In the vocational stream, the district stood in the 12th position in the State with a pass percentage of 46 per cent during last year, he added.

He said among the Government Junior Colleges (GJCs), the pass percentage was a high 93.33 per cent in Talluru GHC, followed by Darsi GJC (91.07 per cent) and Ardhaveedu GHC (88 per cent).

The students could seek reverification/recounting by paying Rs. 600 per subject through their colleges, he added.
