Artistes of the Praja Natya Mandali (PNM) the cultural wing of the CPI(M), will stage a wide range of cultural programmes including dance ballets highlighting the illustrious life of Puchalapalli Sundaraiah, the doyen of Marxist movement in South India, here on November 21.
The PNM is organising a State-wide Kalayatra as part of the birth centenary celebrations of the veteran Marxist leader.
The yatra will arrive in the town on Wednesday.
The PNM artistes from various parts of the State will perform at the mega cultural event slated to be held at Bhakta Ramadasu Kala Kshetram here on Wednesday evening.
The programme will feature short plays, dance ballets and songs eulogising the glorious contribution of Mr. Sundaraiah to the growth of Communist movement and the cause of downtrodden sections of the society.
As many as five short plays will be staged on varied themes including the ill-effects of price rise and FDI in retail sector during the cultural programme. Meanwhile, PNM district secretary K. Devendra and others released the brochures of the ensuing programme at a meeting held here on Saturday.
