MAHABUBNAGAR: The disgruntled Praja Rajyam Party (PR) activists on Sunday attacked the party office and torched the furniture at Kalwakurthy town in the district.

The party activists and followers of Jupally Bhasker Rao a aspirant of PR ticket from Kalwakurthy Assembly segment around 11 a.m. set ablaze the chairs, tables and other material in the office in protest over the denial of party ticket to their leader.

The PR has allotted its Kalwakurthy ticket to J. Chitaranjan Das on Saturday late evening. The party activists said that Jupally Bhasker Rao was striving hard for the party and has organised many party programmes in the constituency.

Resignation threat

They deplored that it is not correct on the party high command to allocate party ticket to Chitaranjan Das who joined the party few day ago only after refusal of Congress party ticket to him. They warned the party high command if the decision was not changed they will en masse resign from the party. The activists also burnt the effigy of Chitaranjan Das on the occasion to express their angry.
