Amidst problems like power cut and absence of facilities in some of the examination centres, the first year annual examination for Intermediate students began here on Wednesday. As the scheduled power cut was more than 12 hours a day in rural pockets, students and parents were worrying about the preparation.

Of the total 40,422 applicants, 38,248 students appeared for the examination.

In vocational category, 7,153 students took the test of the total 8,720 students, said Siddharth Arora, Regional Intermediate Officer.
