NIZAMABAD: Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths trapped an Assistant Additional Engineer of Andhra Pradesh Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (APNPDCL) Matsa Sadasiv when he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.3000 from the complainant for doing him an official favour, at his office at Makloor on Thursday.

The ACB Deputy SP, N.S. Karunanidhi, said his team laid a trap for the AAE after receiving a complaint from a farmer Srinivas Reddy of Madanpally village. Mr. Reddy said that the engineer demanded Rs.5,000 for erection of an additional transformer in his village even if it was already sanctioned by higher authorities. As he expressed inability to give Rs.5,000 the AAE demanded him to pay at least Rs.3,000. The accused engineer Sadasiv was arrested and being remanded, said the Deputy SP.
