The Telangana Congress leaders would be in the forefront to fight for the legitimate rights of the SRSP ayacut farmers, said Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar.
Talking to newsmen here on Friday, he said that they would also demand the State government to file review petition in the Supreme Court if the verdict was against the interests of Telangana region farmers. He also wanted the government convene an all-party meeting on the Supreme Court verdict on Babli and clarify doubts of the people.
The court verdict was not in favour of Maharashtra as the court had instructed the State to utilise only 2.76 tmc of water and also had set up a three-member committee to monitor proper utilisation of waters.
Ridiculing TDP leader Erabelli Dayakar Rao for shedding crocodile tears, he appealed to the TDP leaders not to politicise the issue and divert the Telangana statehood issue.
