Jnanpeeth Awardee Ravuri Baradwaja on Sunday said that politics entered the literary field and destroyed its purity of late and it was necessary to flush it out for the survival literature.

Participating as the chief guest at a book releasing function conducted under the aegis of the Harida Rachayithala Sangham-Nizamabad District Literary Forum, here he said that the hardships that he had undergone in his life elevated him to this position. “I am a small person. I cannot give you a message. But, I can tell you one thing certainly that only the letters in alphabet fed me in the life”, said the octogenarian writer with all humility and humbleness. . Earlier, he released “Nenu”, a compilation of poetry written by young poet Sudhakar.

On the occasion, the “Harida” felicitated Ravuri Baradwaja with shawl and a scroll. It also honoured a leading businessman Katipally Narendar Reddy with the title of Kala Seva Yasaswi. The sangham president Ganapuram Devendar presided and a host of poets and writers graced the programme.
