The One Town police led by Station House Officer N. Yadaiah under the supervision of Deputy SP S. Anilkumar unravelled the mystery behind the murder of Anitha, a labourer. Syed Kaleem and Shaik Juber, both auto drivers hailing the town, were arrested.

Disclosing details to the media here on Monday, SP K.V. Mohan Rao said that the auto drivers spotted Anitha (30), a native of Burugupally of Medak district, along with her seven-year-old daughter at the town railway station on September 24 at around 10.30 p.m.

They enquired her as to where she had to go. After knowing that the lady wanted to board the Mumbai Express but did not have money for the tickets, the accused picked her up in Juber’s auto and took her to an isolated place by the NSP canal near Sarangapur on Bodhan road. They took turns to rape her and stabbed her with a broken beer bottle, resulting in her death.

Basing on the complaint lodged by Todige Ramesh, a hotelier, the police registered the case on September 25 and launched investigation.
