The city police on Sunday issued a notice to the organisers of the APNGOs meeting held at L.B. Stadium here on Saturday for resorting to provocative speeches. Certain conditions laid down before granting permission for the meeting were also found to have been violated, said senior police officials.
Separate cases were also booked based on complaints lodged by two policemen Srinivas Goud and Srisailam against Seemandhra employees. The participants at the meeting attacked Goud and Srisailam. Another case was booked against unidentified persons for trying to attack the convoy of a police official in front of State Assembly.
The police just made entries into the general diary after receiving a complaint against IG Greyhounds P.S.R. Anjaneyulu and singer Ghazal Srinivas. A student from Telangana Balraj Yadav, who suffered injuries when Seemandhra employees assaulted him, lodged a complaint with Saifabad police on Sunday. The complaint that was sent through his friends said that he was attacked while standing at Basheerbagh.
At present, Mr. Yadav is undergoing treatment in a corporate hospital in Nampally.
Eight taken into custody
Meanwhile, eight persons were taken into custody for allegedly pelting stones on buses of Seemandhra employees at Hayathnagar and L.B. Nagar on Saturday night.
The police said the attacks took place when employees were returning to their native place after attending the meeting. An employee, K. Satyanarayana, who sustained injuries in the attack, was admitted to a private hospital. Another complaint was lodged against singer Ghazal Srinivas at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police station in Shamshabad for entering the stadium in violation of prohibitory orders.
